Adam grew up on a small farm in rural Maryland where he spent a lot of time barefoot on grass, gravel, plowed fields and woods discovering nature and how to run. He started off in sports playing soccer and then went on to track, cross country (5k), Shotokan Karate (black belt), and skateboarding in high school.
When he was 17-years-old, he herniated two disks (L4-L5, L5-S1) and was told by a surgeon that he would never run, jump, do martial arts, or lift anything heavy ever again. Depressed, he spent time in a wheelchair, walking with a cane, and taking opioids for the pain before being encouraged by his mother to go to a local yoga class. Within two weeks, he only needed half the pain medication to function. After two months he didn't need pills at all and hasn't touched pain medication in over 20 years.
He later discovered parkour and CrossFit which launched him into his fitness career. After spending 4 years running his own 15,000 square foot jungle gym, becoming a corrective exercise specialist, getting a nutrition coach certification, an OPEX certification, and acquiring an addiction to seminars and books, he's found a home at OPEX Baltimore South and can't wait to meet you.
